1. Introduction
ShareWipe values your privacy and personal data. This policy describes how we collect, use, store, share and protect your information and your rights. By using the App, you indicate that you have read and agree to this policy.
2. Core privacy commitments (please read)
On-device by default
Core flows (detection, risk prompts, redaction) are done on your device by default. Unless you explicitly choose and authorize, we do not upload your images/screenshots to the cloud.
Clean copy only
We do not modify your original files; we generate a new "clean copy" for sharing.
Cloud sync is settings only (no images/history)
When you sign in and enable settings sync, we only sync preferences and rule toggles. We do not sync image content, screenshots or history (unless we clearly state otherwise and you consent).
3. Types of information we collect
To provide and improve the service we may collect (depending on what you use):
Information you provide
• Account: when using Apple/Google sign-in, we may receive identifiers (e.g. user ID, email if provided by the platform and authorized).
• Settings and preferences: e.g. risk toggles, region, default redaction style, export format (synced to our servers if you enable sync).
• Feedback: content you submit via support email or forms.
Device and usage (for service and analytics)
• Device: model, OS version, language, app version;
• Usage and performance: page views, feature usage, crashes, performance metrics;
• Anonymous IDs: we may generate or store anonymous IDs for guest sessions, analytics and benefit checks (not tied to your real identity).
Image/file content
By default: images are processed only on your device; we do not collect or upload image content.
If you explicitly opt in to cloud-based features (e.g. in the future): we will clearly tell you that content will be uploaded for processing and only do so after you confirm. Scope, purpose and deletion will be explained when the feature is enabled.
4. How we use information
We may use the information to: (1) provide and maintain core features (detection, redaction, clean copy, share); (2) support account and cross-device consistency (e.g. settings sync, subscription benefits); (3) validate subscriptions and orders (IAP receipt verification, benefit status, anti-fraud); (4) improve the product (performance, crashes, usage stats); (5) respond to your requests and support; (6) comply with law and security (abuse prevention, attack prevention).
5. Third-party services and SDKs
We may use third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, performance or sign-in/payment (as integrated), such as: Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store IAP, receipt validation); Google (Google Sign-In if enabled, possibly Firebase Analytics/Crashlytics/Performance); other analytics/monitoring (we will update this policy if we add any). Third parties may process some data under their own privacy policies (e.g. device info, crash logs). We choose compliant providers and limit use where possible.
6. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information only as necessary to provide the service, comply with law, or protect our rights, as described in this policy.
7. Storage and retention
Where we store data
• On device: processing results, clean copies and history (if enabled) are stored on your device by default.
• In the cloud: if you enable settings sync we store your preferences; if you use cloud processing we store the minimum data needed for that.
Retention
• Settings sync: retained while you use the service; you can turn it off and request deletion at any time.
• Cloud processing (if enabled later): we will use short retention and provide a way to delete; we may use TTL for materials/results (as described when the feature is available).
• Logs and analytics: retained for a reasonable period, usually de-identified or aggregated.
8. Your rights
Under applicable law (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) you may have: access and correction; deletion of account or cloud settings; withdrawal of consent (e.g. turn off settings sync or cloud features); data portability where feasible. You can use in-app "Delete account" or contact support to exercise these rights.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (access control, encryption, least privilege, audit) to protect your data. No system can be fully secure. If a security incident occurs we will notify and take steps as required by law.
10. Children's privacy
The App is for general users and is not aimed at children. If you are a minor, use it with a guardian's consent. If we learn that we have collected children's data inappropriately we will delete it promptly.
11. Policy updates
We may update this policy and will announce changes on our website or in the App. Continued use after an update means you accept the new policy.
